Our Team

John Robinson, Attorney

John E. Robinson practices law throughout the State of South Carolina. Born in Charleston, John attended the public schools, Clemson University, and Charleston School of Law. He is licensed to practice before all South Carolina Courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Robinson is certified as an Arbitrator and Mediator by the South Carolina State Bar. He is a licensed agent of Old Republic Title Insurance Company.

He has received numerous professional and civic honors, including being made the South Carolina Bar’s 2014 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year, recipient of S.C. Lawyer’s Weekly Leadership in the Law Award, and the Client Distinction Award of Martindale-Hubbell. He is Martindale Hubbell AV-rated.

Robinson serves on the Charleston County Board of Assessment Appeals, the City of Charleston Colonial Commons and Embankment Commission (caring for Colonial Lake and the Battery), the South Carolina Bar House of Delegates, and is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Charleston Pro Bono Legal Services. He has previously served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Charleston County Bar, President of the Alumni Board of the Charleston School of Law, and as member of the Clemson Young Alumni Board.

He lives in a historic Charleston neighborhood with his wife, Sallie, and three children. In what little spare time he has, he is engaged in hobby farming and gardening, and as an amateur genealogist and historian. He is a past licensed Charleston tour guide and will tell you a good story if you give him the time.

James A. “Jake” Kittrell, Paralegal

Jake is a Charleston native and a successful graduate of Trident Technical College’s paralegal program.  At the firm, you can find him helpfully answering calls and attempting to calm nerves.  He is a member of St. Phillip’s Episcopal Church.
